Becoming Catholic (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults - RCIA)

RCIA is a process of initiation into the Christian faith for adults who wish to receive the sacraments of baptism, confirmation or Eucharist. The process normally takes seven months, beginning in the fall and ending at Easter. It includes a number of meetings and personal exercises intended to lead the candidate to an appreciation of the Christian faith.
